I work on Continua, a settlement layer meant to still be running in a hundred years.

Research

The questions I keep coming back to, all of them load-bearing for Continua:

• Contribution memory — how a network can remember who did what, durably, without that record becoming either a surveillance archive or a popularity contest.
• Sybil resistance — what “meaningful participation” can mean when identities are free to create. This is the hard one, and the one most prior systems have got wrong.
• Governance design — constraints that survive the people who wrote them.

Projects

Continua — a durable settlement layer for value, and the argument for why it should exist. Three institutions, deliberately separated:

• Network — the protocol itself.
• Foundation — stewardship without ownership. It does not control the protocol, and says so in as many words.
• Lab — research.
